
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is a striker and captains for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 until 2020. [8][9The 9 Morgan was selected number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. She made her professional debut and was a part of the team's success in winning the league championship. Morgan was 22, at the time, was the youngest player on the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. She scored the match-winning goal in the match against Canada during the 123rd minute of the semi-final match of the 2012 London Olympics. She was second in the U.S. in having 20 assists and 28 goals for 2012, making her the sixth-youngest and youngest prolific player in the nation to achieve 20 goals in one year. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Morgan was also selected as a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan was instrumental in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was also named to the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
