Jana Kramer gained fame as a performer, actress, and songwriter when she appeared on the television show One Tree Hill. She played Alex during three of the season's final seasons. The first two albums she made as a country singer included in episodes of the series helping her debut album of the same name to make it into the Top 20 of the Billboard 200. Thirty One (2015), the album which followed in 2015, was also among in the Top Ten. She finished out the decade with appearances in Dancing with the Stars and appearing in a variety of TV shows alongside several singles from her non-album album. Kramer later appeared on television as Portia Ranson on 90210 from 2008 until 2009, and as Brooke Manning in Entourage in 2009. She joined the cast of CW One Tree Hill in 2009 as Alex Dupre where she continued to appear until the final episode in 2012, part way into. The same year she was also a part of an adult contemporary hit featuring Feels Like Christmas featuring Straight No Chaser.
